William provides personalized financial advice and discretionary management of investment portfolios to his clients.  

William began his career as a Financial Advisor with Shearson Lehman Brothers in Costa Mesa, CA. in 1992, where he developed his fundamental investment knowledge. After a number of mergers and name changes, he left Smith Barney and joined Wachovia Securities, a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors, in 2008. In 2019, William co-founded Gomberg/McQuilkin Wealth Management Group which is affiliated with Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network to provide his clients with the highest level of personal advice and service combined with the scale and resources of a top investment firm.

William provides comprehensive investment planning utilizing our proprietary Envision® tool. Once a working relationship is developed, he has the tools and technology needed to discuss your life expectations, decide on an appropriate investment strategy, track your progress (for Advisory clients), and update your approach whenever necessary.

His goal is to ensure that your interactions and your experiences forming an investment plan are positive. He believes in client relationships and puts servicing of his clients’ accounts as his top priority.   

William spends his free time with his wife Rona, and their two daughters Bayla and Jadyn. They like to stay active both physically and mentally, whether it’s taking walks together at the park or taking regular trips to the many museums and art galleries around southern California. William especially enjoys traveling with his family and experiencing different cultures and learning about their history.

For nearly two decades Mike has helped clients address their financial concerns and develop sound strategies by focusing on each individual’s specific needs. With extensive experience throughout major shifts in the markets, Mike has dedicated his career to delivering the personalized investment planning services his clients deserve.

Mike began his career as a Certified Public Accountant working with individuals and Business Owners in the areas of personal and income tax planning (although he no longer offers these services). In 1988, Mike earned the CFP® certification by completing an approved educational program, passing a series of examinations and meeting stringent experience requirements. In addition, Mike completed the Masters in Taxation program with Golden Gate University in 1992

He developed his fundamental investment planning knowledge as a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch and Smith Barney in Costa Mesa, California. In 2007, He joined Wachovia Securities, a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network, to provide more personalized financial advice for individuals and families.

Away from the office, Mike spends his free time with his wife, Kathy and their daughter, Kelsey. They like to travel and have visited many European countries, the Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska and Hawaii. In addition to Travel, they like to stay active, whether it’s finding a new favorite winery or taking regular trips to Lake Havasu, Arizona where they enjoy boating and the outdoors. Mike especially enjoys many genres of music and is learning to play the Guitar.

Mike is a Past Chairman of the Board of the Irvine Chamber of Commerce. He has also served as Treasurer and Board Member for Families Forward.
